2010 marks a big year for my mom, she turned 60 in March and will celebrate her 40th wedding anniversary in June. I knew I wanted to give her something special, something she would personally connect with and cherish for years to come. The result was beyond spectacular, and I'm not just talking about the necklace. Upon opening, my mother immediately began to cry and said, "This looks like something my mother would have worn." My reply, "That's because it is..the necklace is a combination of grandma's broach and vintage beads and crystals. Needless to say she began to cry even harder. Marcie not only breathed life into the old costume jewelry pieces, but that necklace allowed me to connect with my mother in a really profound, memorable way. Honestly, it was one of the more special moments in my life, yes, because she's my mother, but also because she's an amazing grandmother to my 2-year old daughter."

My Grandmother, Helen, always made me feel so special and loved. It was the greatest gift she gave to me. Upon her passing, I was also given the gift of her coral strand necklace-one of her favorite pieces of jewelry- that she frequently wore in the summer. Wearing this simple, single strand of coral through never really felt like me, and soon after I received it, it broke. Then, it sat in my bedroom drawer for more than 15 years. In January, my good friend shared some of her mother's pearls and commissioned Marcie to update the necklace. She then surprised me with it on my birthday. I was speechless for a minute because it is truly spectacular My new coral necklace is not only stunning, but it is full of meaning and love. It truly brought new life to my grandmother's treasure..and is one of the greatest gifts I have ever received."
